PHP Developer (Laravel/Vue)

About the Role

Emerge Inc. is looking for a PHP Developer with experience in Laravel and/or Vue.js to join our team. If you’re a developer who enjoys solving problems, streamlining workflows, and leveraging AI to enhance productivity and projects, this is a great opportunity for you.

In this role, you’ll be developing and maintaining web applications for our clients and internal projects, including LorainCounty.com. Key Responsibilities

1. Web Development & Optimization

• • Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using PHP, Laravel, and Vue.js.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.
    

2. AI & Productivity-Driven Development

• • Use AI-powered tools (such as code assistants, automation scripts, or AI-driven analytics) to enhance efficiency in development.
  • Explore ways to integrate AI-powered features into projects where it makes sense (e.g., chatbots, recommendation engines, data analysis).
  • Stay updated on how AI can assist in improving code quality, debugging, and automation.
    

3. Collaboration & Problem-Solving

• • Work closely with our designers and project managers to implement new features and improve existing ones.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and help improve development workflows.
    

4. API Development & Integration

• • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless system integration.
  • Work with third-party APIs, including AI services where applicable.
    

5. Frontend & UX Enhancements

• • Implement responsive and user-friendly interfaces using Vue.js.
  • Ensure a consistent and optimized experience across different devices and browsers.
    

Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of experience with PHP development, including Laravel

Technical Skills:

• • Strong understanding of OOP principles, MVC architecture, and RESTful API development.
  • Proficiency in MySQL or PostgreSQL and database optimization.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control.
  • Experience with Docker, AWS, or other cloud-based services (a plus).
  • Knowledge of unit testing and debugging best practices.
  • Interest in AI-powered development tools and how they can enhance productivity.
